| "The Robina Town Centre in Queensland is now officially wrapped" says Clay Wells, project manager for Bentleigh Sign Company in Melbourne. "Planning began in October 2008 and the project was finished in May 2009 with numerous staff involved from sales, client liaison, design and fabrication at both our Victorian and Queensland offices." "Printing was completed in our Victorian plant where our recently purchased Durst Rho600 flatbed was used to print the graphics onto di-bond digital, cut to size and then routed on our wall saw to match 40mm by 40mm frames fabricated at our Queensland branch. Although each panel is around 1.8m by 1.3m, the beauty of the design allowed us to simply clip lock the panels onto the wall framing." Bentleigh originally started in 1956 as a signwriting business then moved with the digital era into sheetmetal, cladding, Alucobond and printed architectural products such as kitchen splashbacks. Equipment list includes a Durst Rho600, Mimaki JV3 250SP roll to roll, 2 Camjets and a Multicam 4 x 1.5m router that processes Alucobond sheeting. "In addition to the Robina Town Centre exterior signage we were also involved in the internal fit-outs for the whole complex." says Clay "This is where our work with other big corporate clients really paid off. We are one of the three main suppliers for Woolworths and our experience in external signage and cladding has led us into larger and more expanded projects. Even though the current economic downturn has affected client budgets, we have adjusted to this by creating higher productivity through the advances of new technology." In conclusion Clay observed "Our philosophy is help our clients stretch their available spend by creating high impact products while using new machines like the Durst to lower the unit price. Currently our Rho600 is clocking up between 30 and 40 hours of run time each week, which isn't half bad at all." |
